This fiberglass facade is meant to recall the translucency of a Chinese lantern, while helping transform what was a government office building into a hotel. Made from extruded fiberglass formed into a honeycomb panel, it effectively diffuses light, creating a glow. Questions have been raised as to the fire rating of the material, as translucent fiberglass is typically harder to get up to code when used on a facade.
