From\u00a0Foster + Partners<\/a>, a composite roof for the new Al-Haramain High Speed Railway Station in Saudi Arabia, fabricated by Premier Composite Technologies, a prototype of which is now on their website. These roof panels will stand up to the harsh climate conditions of sun, heat, and sand, while forming a complex roof riddled with small apetures.<\/p>\n

The Haramain High-speed Railway is a major infrastructure project for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, connecting the cities of Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah and the developing King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC). Altogether, the large, flexible stations will cover an area more than 30 times the size of London\u2019s Trafalgar Square and will initially accommodate an anticipated 60 million passengers \u2013 approximately six times the number of passengers that take the Eurostar from St Pancras each year.<\/p>\n
