OMA’s Lille Grande Palais
Architect Rem Koolhaas designed these three interconnecting spaces of convention hall, exhibition hall, and Zenith Arena as part of a larger city redevelopment plan that began in 1980 for the city of Lille, France. This set of spaces was completed in 2004, and has a wide range of facades distinguishing one programatic volume from the next. Patterned concrete, faceted glass, and below, corrugated translucent fiberglass panels break up the gigantic 45,000 sq meters of space. Find more images or go to the center’s website for more info and 360 degree photos of the other facades and interiors.
